So this week past without a call, but travel calls for many have come in. There are 2 couples that we know who received their referral calls, one in July and one in August. So after at least 3 months waiting, they just received their calls saying their babies are ready for travel home. They now will finalize their travel arrangements and plan on being in Korea possibly by Sunday. Once you receive your travel call, I believe you have to be in Korea within 7--10 days. It is exciting, but also a little hectic making sure you are somewhat packed ahead of time and pre-travel arrangements have been made (you can do this when you are adopting--their are special travel arrangments that you can make a bit ahead of time for people who are adopting--where you make some arrangements and not lose money if had to cancel etc.) We will be researching all of this as soon as we get our referral call--that is planning on maybe flying Korean Air and will have to research where to stay in Korea (recommendations from some other families are very helpful in all aspects of travel and accomodations). I believe the time change in Korea is about 13 hours difference than here and flight is about 18 hours (I think--don't quote me on that yet though--could be shorter, could be longer). Needless to say when we arrive home with the baby--we will definitely be exhausted. Normally it seems that when you arrive to Korea, you try to take the next day to recoup from travel, then have a sightseeing day the following day, then finally see the baby and meet the foster family--maybe another afternoon and following day of sightseeing, then receive the baby and fly home. So all in all--total trip may be about 5 or 6 days at the most. (that includes flying).
So we are happy to see the people we know getting to travel and this will be helpful to us seeing that they can come home and tell us about their experiences (the do's and don'ts). Wondering how November will go with referrals--although we are hopefully expecting our call--October was very busy with referral calls and there was not a week without somebody receiving a call. I know it is just the beginning of November, but I have not heard any referrals coming in yet. Maybe next week! Well need to get to bed, very tired tonight. Took Riley to see Playhouse Disney Live in Lowell--let's just say--can't get into Lowell or out of Lowell--no easy way--tons of traffic. Show was good, but they cost so much money and the shows are just so short!
I will try to post next about NAMES--yes a name for the baby we do not have. It has been close to 2 years since we seriously spoke about adopting (because had spoke of it on and off throughout our relationship over the 15 years we have been together), and over a year and half since we began the actual process--and still really no names. We have a couple we are throwing around--but just not sure yet. Many people who are adopting, especially if this is their first baby see to have a name picked out from day one--but not us! We know we would like to try to keep some of the baby's Korean name as maybe the middle name. Andrew sort of wants to see the baby and see what the baby's given name is and then try to decide on a name. Anyway time will tell, and we probably will not be releasing the baby's american name until we absolutely decide. I will try to write more about this as time goes on. Good night to all!

Dear Kim and Andrew,
We just read your blog and are excited that you are so close. You have waited your fair share of time and we have our fingers, toes, etc., crossed that this will be your week.
Thinking of you,
Jodi
